North Shore FC, Lake Forest

North Shore FC's competitive youth programs adhere to the club’s player development curriculum.  It is designed to challenge and continuously develop our players/teams both individually and collectively.

As part of the long-term development plan, one of our goals is to be immediately identifiable in the way our players approach the game.  They are guided to develop their soccer IQ, and empowered to play with confidence as they make quick decisions and problem solve on the field.  Adding the right building blocks in these early years of our players' soccer journey is critical to their future successes.

There will be opportunities throughout the year for players to guest play and train with other NSFC club teams. Guest players for games are personally invited by the head coach of the requesting team and is an opportunity that is earned by the player, not granted by parent request. A decision will be approved by the club Directors. Should a player be unable to attend their team practice, we encourage that player to attend an age appropriate club session as make up. Please note some club team sessions are open practices and some are closed. Closed practices are those that are only available to rostered players of that team, as well as invited guest players.

Player development is a fundamental priority of the club. Our roster choices are based on player ability and ambition as we try to form consistent teams to compete at an appropriate level. Roster changes and player movement within rosters/teams is a decision that rests solely with the club directors. We aim to place every player appropriately in a positive, productive and challenging environment but sometimes player movement is necessary to enhance player development or to provide cover for injured or absent players.
